Applies to: Anyone with photos. PC, Smartphone, Tablets
We talk a lot about privacy and how much data we want to share and who indeed has our data, be this photos, word documents or financial details. I use Google Photos to store my photos and I’m happy with them having the photos but I do understand this is not for everyone.
Here I just mention a couple of things I love about Google Photos… and yes I accept I use Google Too Much
For example Google Photos the other day suggested that I make an animation of some photos I uploaded.
At the time I was being chased by a flock of hens and took a few photos.
Google then turned it into this:

Every so often Google Photos pops up with a “Remember this day?” and shows some photos you might like to look back on, some from today were of a camping trip I went on with friends about 10 years ago! Good times 🙂

So with that in mind, and because I love backing up data (especially photos) I totally recommend Google Photos https://photos.google.com/ for PC, Smartphone and Tablet. It’s free to create an account (if you don’t already have a Google account) and you can upload unlimited photos.

Side note: We had a good 5-minute discussion on what to call a flock of chickens, other options were “Brood, Peep, Clutch or Chattering” which are listed here along with other animals, my favourite being a Coalition of Cheetahs. http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Pointless/AnimalGroups.html

Let me know if you want to know more and I will leave you with a before and 2 after of an automatically optimised “stylised” photo of Barrow-In-Furness docks I took one night…
