Applies to: Anyone who wants a password manager, but didn’t really like LastPass.
I can’t tell you how much time LastPass has saved me over the past few months. I’ve spent so little time worrying about what my password is for something, I now have more time to do the things I love (like paddling at a lake, as it’s not warm enough for a swim yet…). I have well over 100 online accounts, all (thanks to LastPass) with different passwords, and I only have to remember 1 password to make them work.
For those who are not sure what I’m talking about, a Password Manager is a place to safely and securely store all your passwords and other stuff you need to keep secret.
I won’t go into why they are a good idea here (they are, trust me) but I just wanted to take a few moments to talk about an alternative to LastPass.
It’s called 1Password, and again, it offers you the chance to store a password for every online account in 1 place and keep them secure.
There is a really good “Beginner’s Guide to 1Password” which you can read over on lifehacker here.
1Password is not free like LastPass, but can you put a price on your peace of mind? (I use LastPass and pay for some added features).
Stay Safe
Mike 🙂

The original Lastpass was a delight, simple, understandable, functional – a dream! Then they upgraded, I bought Premium, now its a pain, not straight forward, requires patience – I haven’t any!
Any suggestions for improvement would be most welcome.

Hello
Oh dear, sorry to hear an update has caused problems. Do you have the browser plugin as well as the downloaded program? If not it might be worth trying that? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/
Or try OnePassword which I wrote a Journal Post on here: https://www.pcinnercircle.co.uk/index.php/2017/04/password-managers-an-alternative-to-lastpass/
Let me know your thoughts

I do not have a mobile phone or tablet or notebook. Does this prevent installing new Google Earth?

Hello
No not at all, the new Google Earth runs in a web browser, it looks like you are using Microsoft Edge so it should just work, try clicking this link and see if it works on your computer: https://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/earth/ then click the “Launch Google Earth” button on that page.
Thanks
Mike 🙂
